DESCRIPTION

The Picture Framing Activities Class provides a setting that facilitates the development of work related behavior skills necessary to obtain and retain suitable employment.  The class uses the process of picture framing to assess and develop work related behavior skills for the consumer.

MISSION

The mission of the Picture Framing Activities Class is to use hands on activities to improve or develop the needed attitude and skills for the consumer to achieve the level of performance related to work behaviors to obtain and retain suitable employment.

OBJECTIVES

Objectives of this class are to improve/develop/enhance deficits in the following areas

Motor Skills

· Installing small hardware or picture frame molding

· Mounting hinge points

· Adjusting molding corners for accurate molding

· Cutting matting to correct size

Cognitive

· Memory

· Orientation

· Sequencing-performing tasks needed in specific order

· Perception

· Measurement-using specific worksheets in order to calculate correct measure for cutting matting and molding

Behavioral

· to develop/enhance work related behaviors so as to enable consumers to effectively obtain and retain suitable employment.  (These are the 15 behaviors set forth in the V.B.E. system)

Social Skills

· Social:  Appropriate interaction between co-workers and supervisors

· Self-management:  Initiative, self-motivation and time management
