Retail Sales Training Program

MISSION

Students will acquire skills and knowledge necessary for entry-level employment in retail merchandising positions.  Through the daily operational demands of The Courtyard Gift Shop, students learn to order, receive, price, stock maintain levels of merchandise, and communicate in person and via telephone.

ADMISSION QUALIFICATIONS

Lift 10 to 100 pounds (depending on the training area chosen), walking, standing, bending, squatting, and ascending, and descending ladders.  In addition, students should read, do basic math, follow oral and written instructions, use equipment and computers and communicate effectively.

LENGTH OF COURSE

· 3 to 6 months-300 to 600 hours (Stock Clerk S.O.C.43-5081.01)

· 1 to 3 months-100 to 300 hours (Sales Clerk S.O.C.41-2031.00)

· 1 to 3 months-100 to 300 hours (Gift Wrapper S.O.C.41-9099.99)

· 1 to 3 months-100 to 300 hours (Receiving Checker S.O.C.43-5111.00)

· 1 to 3 months-100 to 300 hours (Cashier-Checker S.O.C.41-2011.00)
