It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Carl D Perkins Vocational Training Center (CDPVTC). I am happy that you have found and decided to tour our web site.

The Carl D Perkins Vocational Trianing Center has a rich tradition and history from more than thirty years of providing vocational evaluation, vocational training, medical and therapy services. The Center was named after Carl D Perkins, who was from Knott County Kentucky and served the House of representatives from the Kentucky 7th Congressional District for thirty-six years. Congressman Perkins was a very strong advocate for persons with disabilities and was very influential in obtaining much of the initial funding necessary in order to create and establish the Center.

Our mission at the Center is to assist Kentuckians with disabilities to achieve suitable employment and independence. This mission is based upon the belief that recognition and respect of the contributions of all individuals is a necessary and vital part of a productive society.

Within our web site are descriptions of the various programs and services that are offered at the Carl D Perkins Vocational Training Center. By exploring each section of the web site, you will learn about what we offer. All of our programs and services are run by seasoned and creative staff members who are the reason behind the Center's effectiveness in assisting our students become employed and independent.
